Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of xellstorm: the web app at app.xellstorm.com, the website at xellstorm.com, and the licenses sold for them (together, “xellstorm”). xellstorm is operated by Enloint (representative: Kim, Sung eun; business registration number 211-23-70065), 402-748A, 12 Teheran-ro 70-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea (“we”, “us”). By signing in, buying a plan or using xellstorm for work, you accept these terms. If you accept them for an organization, you confirm that you may bind it, and “you” includes the organization.
1. What xellstorm does
xellstorm runs Monte Carlo simulations of spreadsheet models. The calculation runs inside your browser: your workbooks, inputs and results are read and calculated on your device and are not sent to us. Our servers handle only sign-in, licenses, organizations and billing, as described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Plans
- Community is free, for non-commercial use only, and needs no account. Reports made on Community are marked “Non-commercial use”.
- Pro and Team are paid subscriptions for commercial use, per named user (seat). Reports carry the name of the licensed organization.
- Enterprise is offered under a separate written agreement, which prevails over these terms where they differ.
Non-commercial use means use by an individual for personal learning, hobby projects or coursework; use by students and teachers of accredited educational institutions for teaching and coursework; academic research whose results are intended for publication; and use by registered charitable or non-profit organizations for their own operations. Any use in connection with work performed for a business, a government body or a client is commercial use, including freelance and consulting work, research funded by or performed for a company, and evaluation beyond the trial period.
3. License
While your plan is active, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use xellstorm within your plan: for Community, non-commercial use; for Pro and Team, use by the named users who hold a seat. You may not resell, sublicense or rent xellstorm, share a seat between people, or circumvent its license checks. Everything you make with xellstorm, including your models, setups and reports, is yours.
4. Accounts and seats
You sign in with a link sent to your e-mail address; keep access to that mailbox secure, as anyone who can read it can sign in as you. A seat belongs to one named person, who may use it on several devices and browsers. Licenses belong to the organization: the first buyer is its owner, and owners and admins invite members and give or take back seats. Licenses are checked offline, so after a seat is taken back or a plan ends, xellstorm may keep working on a device for up to 14 days.
5. Free trial
New users can try Pro or Team free for 30 days, without a card. The trial ends by itself; nothing is charged unless you buy a plan. After the trial, continued commercial use requires a paid plan.
6. Purchases, renewals and refunds
Orders are processed by Freemius, our reseller and merchant of record, which charges you, issues invoices and handles sales taxes under its own terms. Prices are shown excluding VAT and sales tax. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. The person who bought the plan can cancel it at any time in the Freemius customer portal (Billing and invoices, in the app’s account panel), or by writing to support@xellstorm.com; your plan then runs until the end of the period you paid for. Every first payment for a plan has a 30-day money-back guarantee: write to us or to Freemius within 30 days for a full refund. Mandatory consumer rights under the law that applies to you are not affected.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use xellstorm unlawfully, overload or probe our servers, interfere with other users, or remove or alter the license line on reports to misrepresent how they were made.
8. Your data and your files
Your workbooks, setups and run history are stored in your browser’s own storage on your device. We cannot see, restore or back them up: keep your own copies, and note that clearing your browser’s data removes them. xellstorm reads your workbook and never writes to it.
9. Results are estimates
Simulation results depend on your model, its inputs and the distributions you choose, and are subject to sampling error. xellstorm is a tool for analysis, not professional, financial or engineering advice. You are responsible for checking results and for the decisions you base on them.
10. Changes and availability
We improve xellstorm continuously and may change, add or remove features. We aim to keep it available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. If we stop offering a paid plan, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
11. Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, xellstorm is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of results or freedom from errors.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data or business decisions made with xellstorm, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for xellstorm in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Ending
You may stop using xellstorm at any time, and ask us to delete your account by writing to support@xellstorm.com. We may suspend or end access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, after notice where reasonable.
14. Third-party components
xellstorm includes open-source software under its own licenses, listed in the app under Open-source licenses. Microsoft Excel, @RISK, ModelRisk and Analytic Solver are trademarks of their respective owners; xellstorm is not affiliated with them.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the Seoul Central District Court has jurisdiction over disputes, without depriving consumers of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where they live or of the right to bring claims there.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with its effective date and, for material changes, tell signed-in users by e-mail or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you may stop using xellstorm and cancel your plan.
